Dr. Dan Holland and his wife, Heather, along with their seven children, ages 3 to 15, left their home in the Wilsonville/Tualatin area for three weeks last summer to serve with Roberts at the eye clinic. Firefighters and Lifeflight pilots team up to fight hunger

Firefighters will collect canned food from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday in front of Safeway, 1525 W. Main St. Lifeflight has agreed to bring one of their helicopters (weather and emergencies permitting) from noon to 4 p.m. A donation of canned food or money will get a person a tour of the helicopter. Full story »

West Linn sixth-graders to help homeless teens

Homeless teenagers will be treated to an early Thanksgiving on Saturday. Many Hands, a community service group of West Linn sixth-graders, will deliver Thanksgiving-themed sack lunches to the Janus Youth Program's Access Center of Portland. The center serves street-dependent youth, ages 13 to 24, who are seeking support services through Portland's Homeless Youth Continuum.  Full story »
